At leisure
Rita Odeh: Poem ‘At leisure’

At leisure,
I sip the cup of eternal
elegance.
At leisure,
I am caught by prophetic
wonder.
At leisure,
between the lines, I wander,
I wander…
like a gypsy lover.
At leisure,
I walk upon your seas,
like one walking
toward a heavenly miracle.
At leisure,
I contemplate the apple of Paradise,
and wait for it
to glow,
shaping itself into rhetorical
metaphors.
At leisure…
In time, there is room
for the explosion
of a poetic flash.
