Sergio Diniz da Costa: ‘Chove chuva, chove sem parar…’
Final de tarde e o tempo já estava fechado, ameaçando cair outro toró, como já ocorrera no dia anterior. No entanto, sair com guarda-chuva na rua, enquanto ainda não está chovendo, é esquecê-lo no primeiro momento em que ambas as mãos estiverem vazias. Pelo menos para mim!
Eu estava, portanto, desguardachuvado, quando o céu resolveu cair sobre toda a cidade.
Relativamente longe do meu carro ─ onde o ‘tal’ se encontrava, ali inútil, tanto quanto uma roupa de mergulho num deserto ─, não me restou alternativa, senão me abrigar embaixo de uma marquise. E, comigo, aos poucos, mais a cidade inteira. Também, aos poucos, as muitas reclamações sobre as chuvas em excesso.
Sem muitas opções, enquanto esperava o tempo se recompor ─ e as pessoas, também! ─, detive-me a ouvir, discretamente, alguns comentários. Um em especial: um jovem, visivelmente apaixonado, cheio de cuidados com a bela e delicada namorada.
Pelo que deu para perceber, logo mais eles iriam a uma grande festa e ela tinha acabado de sair de um salão de beleza, onde passara horas ‘dando um trato’ no cabelo e, em contrapartida, tendo um maltrato nos bolsos.
Aquela chuva, digna de um novo Dilúvio, por conseguinte, se mostrava o suprassumo, a apoteose de todos os azares.
Enquanto chovia torrencialmente fora da marquise, sob ela a moça também começou a molhar, agora, os ombros do namorado que, visivelmente aflito, não sabia o que fazer, a fim de mitigar aquele sofrimento feminino.
Confesso que me compadeci da situação. E, dando asas à imaginação, vi naquele jovem um outro, um carioca de 18 anos, de nome Jorge Duílio Lima Meneses que, naquela situação, apelaria à chuva e a Deus: ‘Chove Chuva/ Chove sem parar…/ Pois eu vou fazer uma prece/ Prá Deus, nosso Senhor/ Prá chuva parar/ De molhar o meu divino amor…/ Que é muito lindo/ É mais que o infinito/ É puro e belo/ Inocente como a flor…/ Por favor, chuva ruim/ Não molhe mais/ O meu amor assim…’
Infelizmente, porém, sob aquela marquise, não estava ali o nosso querido Jorge Duílio, ou melhor, para o grande público, Jorge Ben* (posteriormente, Jorge Bem Jor), um guitarrista, cantor e compositor que, antes de enveredar pela música, queria ser jogador de futebol e chegou a integrar o time infanto-juvenil do Flamengo, mas, em tendo a música no sangue, seguiu a carreira e vem caminhando pelas trilhas do rock and roll, samba, samba rock, bossa nova, jazz, maracatu, funk, ska e até mesmo hip hop, com letras que misturam humor e sátira, além de temas esotéricos e de trazer influências árabes e africanas, oriundas de sua mãe, nascida na Etiópia.
Sua biografia aponta, ainda, que ele ganhou seu primeiro pandeiro aos treze anos de idade e, dois anos depois, já cantava no coro da igreja. Também participava como tocador de pandeiro em blocos de carnaval. Aos dezoito, ganhou um violão de sua mãe e começou a se apresentar em festas e boates, tocando bossa nova e rock and roll.
No início dos anos 60, apresentou-se no Beco das Garrafas, que se tornou um dos redutos da bossa nova. Em 1963, ele subiu no palco e cantou ‘Mas que Nada’, uma das canções em língua portuguesa mais executadas nos Estados Unidos até hoje, na versão do pianista brasileiro Sérgio Mendes com o grupo de hip hop norte-americano Black Eyed Peas.
Em 1968, foi convidado para o programa Divino, Maravilhoso que Caetano Veloso e Gilberto Gil faziam na Tupi. Participou, também, de O Fino da Bossa (comandado por Elis Regina e Jair Rodrigues) e da Jovem Guarda (de Roberto Carlos). Nessa época, obteve enorme sucesso com ‘Cadê Tereza?’, ‘País Tropical’, ‘Que Pena’ e ‘Que Maravilha’, além de concorrer com ‘Charles, Anjo 45’ no Festival Internacional da Canção, da TV Globo, em 1969.
Na década de 1970, venceria este festival com ‘Fio Maravilha’, interpretado por Maria Alcina. ‘País Tropical’ também teve êxito, na voz de Wilson Simonal. Ainda nos anos 70, Jorge Ben lançou álbuns mais esotéricos e experimentais, como ‘A Tábua de Esmeralda’ (1974), ‘Solta o Pavão’ (1975) e ‘África Brasil’ (1976). Embora não tenham obtido sucesso comercial, estes álbuns são considerados clássicos da música brasileira.
Não, debaixo daquela marquise não estava o inspirado Jorge Ben, mas tão somente um desconsolado jovem apaixonado, para o qual aquela chuva ruim, repentina e solidariamente, deu trégua e, assim como para a namorada, parou de molhar a todos nós.
