A formação cívica com todas as suas vertentes é, igualmente, indispensável para um mundo mais tranquilo, para uma sociedade mais humanista. Qualidade de vida sem humanismo, não poderá existir; humanismo sem os benefícios proporcionados pela tecnologia e pela ciência, também não fará sentido, e não será viável.
Acredita-se, portanto, que: «A cultura humana que se mostra cada vez mais aperfeiçoada em termos de desenvolvimento tecnológico, mostra também, claramente, a sua vocação para colocar a seu serviço tudo aquilo que é a sua conquista sobre a natureza e de não querer transformar-se numa realidade alienada pelo seu próprio esforço. » (TOLEDO 1986:17).
É evidente que o homem vai destruindo a natureza, que lhe foi colocada no mundo pelo Criador da mesma, ainda que, em algumas situações, se trate de uma destruição para construir um outro património artificial, que beneficia comunidades inteiras, e até o mundo em geral. Neste “destrói/constrói”, tem, igualmente, de existir Ética, respeito por deveres e direitos que já foram, legal e legitimamente, atribuídos e adquiridos, respetivamente.
No confronto das posições mais extremadas, algumas regras de Etiqueta também se podem utilizar. Naturalmente que não se pretende, nem se tem a veleidade de pensar, que a Etiqueta vai resolver todos os conflitos do mundo, bem longe disso.
O que aqui se deseja deixar bem vincado, é que em muitas situações, e também na vida profissional, social, política e em quaisquer outros contextos equivalentes, a Etiqueta poderá ser uma boa solução para amenizar muitos problemas, inclusive, resolver, total ou parcialmente, alguns conflitos, pelo menos de ordem estritamente pessoal.
Como na maioria das Ciências Sociais e Humanas, a Filosofia está presente na Etiqueta, desde que se queira utilizar esta, segundo os princípios da simplicidade, da humildade, da sinceridade e da gratidão. E se: por um lado, a Etiqueta é tão necessária, como quaisquer outros conhecimentos, designadamente nas relações interpessoais; por outro lado, a Filosofia enquanto sabedoria acumulada pelos mais maduros, nas suas vertentes da paz, da tranquilidade e da cidadania, enfim, como caminho em busca da verdade, não deverá ser descurada.
Entenda-se, portanto, a Etiqueta como um conjunto de regras cívico-afáveis, verdadeiras e humildes. Associar a Etiqueta à Ética e à Filosofia não será nenhum exagero nem utopia, porque: «A Filosofia é um conhecimento aberto. Assim, podemos dizer que ela é movimento. É a procura da verdade, nunca a sua posse definitiva. Por isso ela nasceu já acompanhada da humildade. » (TRICHES, 2008:51).
O cidadão, no exercício da sua atividade profissional, e/ou, enquanto membro de uma comunidade, não pode ignorar determinadas regras, para bem desempenhar os inúmeros papeis que ao longo de um só dia, por exemplo, lhe são consignados. Em todas as suas intervenções existem pormenores, às vezes de aparente somenos importância, mas que, na realidade, podem ser decisivos para outros desenvolvimentos. Trata-se das regras de Etiqueta, e também dos grandes princípios da Ética. Sem estas duas dimensões do “Saber-ser”, muito dificilmente alguém se adaptará à sociedade moderna.
Com efeito, toda a pessoa será sempre bem aceite, bem recebida, estimada e conceituada, se utilizar valores éticos conjugadamente com regras de Etiqueta. A articulação dos deveres que a Ética a todos impõe, com as regras da Etiqueta, que se desejam ver aplicadas, por todas as pessoas, resultam no cidadão ideal, um cidadão afável, delicado, humilde, solidário e grato. Reverte num cidadão que se pretende para o século XXI, que seja capaz de ultrapassar os diferentes pequenos/grandes conflitos, os egoísmos, os preconceitos.
Vive-se um período que, mais do que nunca, exige bom senso, boas-maneiras, regras de boa-convivência, no cumprimento absoluto de deveres, mas, também no exercício moderado dos direitos. Esta situação, de grave crise internacional, que se vem prolongando dramaticamente, também pode ser ultrapassada com as decisões acertadas, tomadas por pessoas de bom-senso, cumpridoras das normas éticas, emblelezadas com as regras de Etiqueta. Pessoas sábias, prudentes e humildes.
