Foi-se o amor, cortado em sua raiz,
Como a foice que ceifa sem alertar,
Num gesto frio, preciso, infeliz,
Levou no corte o desejo de amar.
Não restou nada, além do vazio,
Nessa terra árida onde nada mais floresce
A flor que um dia para a vida se abriu,
Agora murcha, sua cor já desvanece.
A foice afiada não conhece dor,
Muito menos a falta do que separou.
Assim cortou, de nós, o grande amor,
E o que era inteiro, se despedaçou.
Foi-se o amor, na lâmina cruel,
Deixou-nos somente sombras e tormento.
Como o campo varrido pelo corte fiel,
Ficou o silêncio, um triste abatimento.

As for me, I will just share this with you because right now this is what I have in my head concerning this topic.
