Rita Odeh traz ao ROL a alma poética de Haifa, a ‘Linda Praia’, celebrada por sua beleza cênica, estendendo-se do Mar Mediterrâneo até as encostas do Monte Carmelo!
Rita Odeh, natural de Nazaré e residindo em Haifa, é poetisa, romancista e tradutora palestina, bacharel em Língua Inglesa e Literatura Comparada pela Universidade de Haifa, tendo lecionado Inglês no Ensino Médio Municipal de Nazaré.
Dedica-se à escrita criativa desde 2000, nos estilos poesia em prosa, microcontos, haicai, contos, romances, literatura infantil, cartas e leituras impressionistas, sendo vencedora de diversos primeiros lugares em concursos internacionais de haicai.
Publica seus trabalhos literários no saite ‘Ahewar’ e sua obra foi resenhada por diversos críticos, tanto locais quanto de todo o mundo árabe.

In Praise of Ruin: The City After the War
The city sheds its shadow…
Leaves it as a memento at the thresholds of sealed taverns,
And never looks back.
Behind it, smoke seduces memory away from its reason,
And blood.
The lamps that used to chatter with light,
Were struck by sudden muteness under the weight of gunpowder.
They began pointing toward the abyss,
As if guiding death to what remains of faces
In the void.
No wailing in the alleys…
Only the echo of the wind’s broom gathering the shards of songs,
And cursing the resonance of the howling.
The old newspaper seller
Folds his funeral under his arm and walks…
He walks behind a city that forgot,
In the midst of the shelling, its children and their names.
So they lost the way to their own selves,
And became firewood in the hearth of extinction.
The city now…
Is not a pile of stones or cement,
But a tear petrified in the eye of an oppressed old man,
Who aged during the nights of bombardment,
And waits for someone who dares, amidst this ruin,
To say: “Farewell, O leaders.”
Em Louvor à Ruína: A Cidade Depois da Guerra
A cidade lança sua sombra…
Deixa-a como lembrança nos umbrais de tavernas seladas,
E nunca olha para trás.
Atrás dela, a fumaça seduz a memória, afastando-a da razão,
E do sangue.
As lâmpadas que antes chilreavam com luz,
Foram atingidas por um silêncio súbito sob o peso da pólvora.
Começaram a apontar para o abismo,
Como se guiassem a morte para o que resta dos rostos
No vazio.
Nenhum lamento nos becos…
Apenas o eco da vassoura do vento recolhendo os fragmentos de canções,
E amaldiçoando a ressonância do uivo.
O velho jornaleiro
Dobra seu funeral sob o braço e caminha…
Caminha atrás de uma cidade que esqueceu,
Em meio ao bombardeio, suas crianças e seus nomes.
Assim, perderam o caminho para si mesmos,
E se tornaram lenha na fornalha da extinção.
A cidade agora…
Não é um amontoado de pedras ou cimento,
Mas uma lágrima petrificada no olho de um velho oprimido,
Que envelheceu durante as noites de bombardeio,
E espera por alguém que ouse, em meio a esta ruína,
Dizer: “Adeus, ó líderes.”
