Crônica reflexiva existencialista: ‘A metragem do vazio’
Começa sempre com uma medida. Não de tempo, nem de distância, mas de ausência. Como se o vazio pudesse ser calculado em metros, pesado em silêncio, delimitado por coordenadas invisíveis.
Ele acorda com essa sensação — a de que algo falta com precisão matemática — e passa a vida tentando descobrir quanto. Não é uma falta difusa, dessas que se resolvem com distrações ou afeto momentâneo; é uma lacuna exata, quase geométrica, como se houvesse um espaço escavado dentro dele, um negativo perfeitamente moldado àquilo que nunca existiu.
Na parede do quarto, ele traça linhas imaginárias. Mede o ar entre seus dedos e o teto, entre o chão e o pensamento. Há uma obsessão discreta, quase científica, em quantificar o nada. Ele lê sobre o vácuo físico, sobre como o espaço interestelar não é realmente vazio, mas saturado de partículas, radiações, possibilidades latentes. Isso o irrita.
Porque o vazio que sente não vibra, não pulsa, não promete nada. É um silêncio absoluto, uma ausência que não contém sequer a esperança de ser preenchida.
Ele tenta nomear essa experiência, mas as palavras falham. ‘Solidão’ é leve demais. ‘Angústia’ é imprecisa. ‘Nada’ é uma palavra cheia de história, de filosofia, de tentativas fracassadas de captura.
O que ele sente é anterior à linguagem, ou talvez posterior — como se estivesse além daquilo que pode ser dito, numa zona onde o pensamento se dissolve antes de se formar completamente.
Há dias em que ele caminha pela cidade como quem percorre um mapa de inconsistências. As pessoas falam, riem, compram, tocam-se, mas tudo parece deslocado por alguns milímetros.
Como se o mundo estivesse levemente fora de alinhamento, como um quadro torto que ninguém percebe.
Ele observa os gestos automáticos, as conversas repetidas, os rituais sociais, e tenta medir o vazio entre o que é dito e o que é realmente vivido. Descobre que esse intervalo é vasto, quase infinito. Uma metragem invisível que sustenta a aparência de normalidade.
Em certo momento, ele decide que o erro pode estar nele. Talvez o vazio não seja uma falha do mundo, mas uma característica da percepção. Talvez todos sintam isso, mas aprenderam a ignorar, a cobrir com camadas de sentido provisório. Ele tenta fazer o mesmo. Preenche os dias com tarefas, os pensamentos com ruído, o tempo com distrações cuidadosamente escolhidas.
Funciona por algumas horas, às vezes dias.
Mas o vazio retorna, sempre com a mesma precisão, como se tivesse um ponto fixo dentro dele, um centro gravitacional que atrai tudo de volta ao silêncio.
Ele começa então a suspeitar que o vazio não é ausência, mas estrutura. Não aquilo que falta, mas aquilo que sustenta. Como o espaço entre as notas que permite a música, ou o branco da página que torna possível a escrita.
Essa ideia o perturba mais do que conforta. Porque se o vazio é estrutural, então não há preenchimento possível. Não se trata de completar, mas de coexistir. De aprender a viver com uma falta que não será resolvida, apenas compreendida — ou, talvez, nunca.
Numa noite particularmente silenciosa, ele se deita no chão e observa o teto como se fosse o céu. Imagina-se flutuando no espaço, cercado por um vácuo que não o oprime, mas o contém. Pela primeira vez, o vazio não parece inimigo.
Há uma estranha neutralidade nele, uma ausência de julgamento. O vazio não exige nada, não cobra sentido, não impõe direção. Ele apenas é. E, por um instante breve, quase imperceptível, isso basta.
Mas a consciência retorna, como sempre. E com ela, a necessidade de significar, de entender, de medir. Ele se levanta e volta às suas linhas imaginárias, às suas tentativas de quantificação.
Mede o silêncio entre duas palavras não ditas, o intervalo entre um pensamento e outro, o espaço entre o que ele é e o que acredita ser. Cada medida falha, mas nenhuma é inútil. Porque no ato de medir, há um reconhecimento: o vazio existe, e ele está ali, presente, constante.
Com o tempo, ele abandona a ideia de preencher. Começa a explorar. O vazio deixa de ser obstáculo e se torna território. Ele aprende a caminhar por dentro de si como quem atravessa um deserto — não esperando encontrar algo no fim, mas atento às nuances do caminho.
Descobre que há variações no nada, densidades diferentes de silêncio, formas sutis de ausência. O vazio, afinal, tem textura.
E talvez seja isso que o salva — não a superação, mas a convivência. Não a resposta, mas a permanência da pergunta. Ele continua medindo, mas agora sabe que a metragem nunca será concluída. O vazio não tem fim, nem início. É um campo aberto, uma extensão sem bordas, onde o ser humano se move tentando deixar marcas que desaparecem quase imediatamente.
No fim, ele entende — ou acredita entender — que a metragem do vazio não é uma tarefa a ser completada, mas uma condição a ser habitada.
E que talvez, apenas talvez, o sentido não esteja em preencher o vazio, mas em reconhecê-lo como parte inseparável daquilo que somos. Porque é no espaço que falta que o ser se insinua, hesitante, incompleto, mas ainda assim presente.
E ele continua.
Medindo o invisível, habitando o indizível, vivendo na exata distância entre o que existe e aquilo que nunca existirá.
E ele continua, não mais como quem busca, mas como quem consente — e há nisso uma inversão quase imperceptível, como se o gesto de medir tivesse sido substituído por um gesto mais raro: o de permanecer.
Porque medir ainda pressupõe um fora, um ponto de referência, uma exterioridade possível; permanecer, não — permanecer é aceitar que não há margem, que o vazio não se circunscreve, não se opõe, não se resolve em contraste. Ele não está diante do vazio; ele é a dobra pela qual o vazio se reconhece.
Nesse estágio, as categorias falham com maior violência. Ser e não-ser já não operam como distinções úteis, pois ambas supõem uma estabilidade que o vazio dissolve sem esforço.
O que resta é uma espécie de flutuação ontológica, um estado em que o pensamento não se fixa, mas também não se perde completamente. Há um limiar contínuo, uma zona de quase-consciência onde as ideias surgem apenas para se desfazer, como partículas virtuais no vácuo quântico — emergências efêmeras que não chegam a constituir realidade, mas tampouco podem ser negadas.
Ele começa a perceber que a linguagem, outrora ferramenta, tornou-se ruína. Cada palavra que tenta usar para capturar o que vive carrega um atraso, uma defasagem inevitável. Dizer “vazio” já é preenchê-lo com um conceito; nomear é trair.
E, no entanto, o silêncio absoluto não é uma alternativa, pois mesmo o silêncio implica uma escuta, e toda escuta pressupõe um sujeito. Assim, ele se move num campo paradoxal onde falar é falsificar e calar é pressupor — e ambos os gestos falham com igual precisão.
É nesse ponto que o pensamento se curva sobre si mesmo.
Não mais como reflexão, mas como colapso. Ele já não pensa sobre o vazio; o vazio pensa através dele, ou talvez nem isso — talvez não haja mais mediação suficiente para sustentar a ideia de um “através”.
O que há é uma espécie de impessoalidade radical, uma experiência sem centro, onde a interioridade se dissolve e o exterior perde sua função. Tudo se torna superfície, mas uma superfície sem extensão, sem profundidade, sem orientação.
E ainda assim, há uma estranha lucidez nisso. Não a lucidez da clareza, mas a da exaustão. Como se, ao esgotar todas as tentativas de sentido, restasse apenas aquilo que nunca precisou de sentido para existir.
O vazio, então, deixa de ser problema e se torna condição anterior a qualquer problema. Ele não pergunta mais “por quê?”, porque o próprio gesto de perguntar se revela deslocado, quase ingênuo.
A questão não é mais o sentido, mas a impossibilidade de sua ausência total — pois mesmo o vazio, em sua radicalidade, insiste em se apresentar.
Há momentos em que ele suspeita que tudo isso é apenas uma forma extrema de consciência, um excesso que se volta contra si mesmo até se desfazer. Mas essa suspeita também se dissolve, pois não há critério externo que a valide ou invalide.
Tudo acontece no mesmo plano, sem hierarquia, sem garantia.
A verdade perde sua autoridade, não por ter sido negada, mas por ter sido esvaziada de função. Não há mais o que provar, nem a quem.
E então surge uma nova forma de atenção. Não dirigida, não intencional, mas difusa, quase mineral. Ele observa sem objeto, percebe sem foco, como se a própria estrutura da percepção tivesse sido desarticulada.
Não há mais figura e fundo, nem sujeito e mundo. Apenas uma continuidade indistinta, onde tudo ocorre sem realmente ocorrer.
O tempo, nesse contexto, também se desfaz. Não há passado a ser lembrado nem futuro a ser antecipado — apenas uma duração sem direção, um presente que não se acumula.
É nesse estado que ele compreende — ou melhor, deixa de resistir à compreensão de que a metragem do vazio nunca foi uma tentativa de quantificar o nada, mas de escapar daquilo que sempre esteve dado.
Medir era uma forma de manter distância, de preservar a ilusão de separação. Agora, sem essa mediação, resta apenas a coincidência: ele não está no vazio, nem o vazio está nele — ambos são expressões de uma mesma indistinção.
E, paradoxalmente, é nessa indistinção que algo como uma ética começa a emergir — não uma ética normativa, baseada em deveres ou valores, mas uma ética da não-interferência, da suspensão do domínio.
Se não há centro, não há também justificativa para impor sentido ao que quer que seja. A ação, quando ocorre, não parte de um querer, mas de uma espécie de ressonância com o que se apresenta. Não há escolha no sentido tradicional — apenas resposta.
Essa resposta, porém, não se traduz em gestos visíveis. Ele continua vivendo, aparentemente como antes, mas há uma diferença que não pode ser percebida de fora. Internamente, tudo foi deslocado.
O mundo já não exige interpretação, nem oferece resistência. Ele atravessa os dias como quem atravessa um campo sem marcas, onde cada passo não deixa rastro e cada instante não se acumula.
Não há progresso, nem regressão. Apenas continuidade.
E talvez seja isso o mais difícil de aceitar: que não há clímax, nem revelação final, nem resolução.
A metragem do vazio não conduz a um fim, porque o fim pressupõe uma narrativa, e toda narrativa exige sentido. Aqui, não. Aqui, o que há é uma persistência sem finalidade, uma existência que não se justifica, mas também não precisa fazê-lo.
No limite, o que resta é uma espécie de transparência. Não no sentido de clareza, mas de ausência de opacidade.
Nada mais se interpõe entre o que é e o que aparece, porque já não há distinção suficiente para sustentar essa diferença. O mundo não se revela — ele simplesmente não se esconde.
E ele continua, não como sujeito de uma história, mas como ponto indistinto numa extensão sem bordas.
A metragem foi abandonada, não por ter sido concluída, mas por ter se tornado irrelevante. O vazio permanece, mas já não é problema, nem mistério, nem ameaça. É apenas aquilo que sempre foi: o fundo sem fundo sobre o qual tudo, inclusive ele, insiste em acontecer — ou talvez nunca tenha começado.
E ainda assim, mesmo nesse estado de dissolução silenciosa, algo insiste — não como vontade, nem como pensamento articulado, mas como uma espécie de contração mínima da consciência, quase imperceptível, como se o vazio, ao se tornar total, começasse a produzir suas próprias microfissuras internas.
Não há evento, não há ruptura, apenas uma leve oscilação na continuidade, um tremor sem causa que não altera a estrutura, mas a revela como instável em sua própria estabilidade. Ele percebe — ou é percebido por isso — que o nada absoluto não é estático, mas respirante em sua impossibilidade.
Essa respiração não pertence a nada vivo no sentido comum. Não há pulmões, não há organismo, não há interioridade que a sustente. É uma respiração lógica, se isso ainda puder fazer sentido: uma alternância sem sujeito, uma pulsação sem centro, um ritmo que não organiza nada, mas também não se desfaz.
E é nesse intervalo mínimo que algo como uma memória sem conteúdo tenta emergir, não na lembrança de fatos, mas a lembrança de uma forma de existência em que ainda havia diferença entre o dentro e o fora.
Essa lembrança, porém, não se fixa; ela escapa no mesmo instante em que é pressentida, como se o próprio ato de recordar fosse incompatível com a condição atual do ser.
Ele já não sabe se ainda pode ser chamado de “ele”. O pronome parece excessivo, uma concessão linguística que pressupõe unidade onde já não há.
Mas a linguagem insiste por hábito, como um reflexo antigo de uma estrutura que se desfez.
E mesmo essa insistência não é vivida como erro, apenas como ruído de fundo, uma camada residual de significado que não consegue se atualizar, mas também não desaparece completamente. Tudo o que resta da identidade é esse atrito entre o que foi e o que não consegue cessar de ser nomeado.
O espaço ao redor — se ainda faz sentido falar em espaço — não se expande nem se contrai. Ele simplesmente não responde mais às categorias de medida. A metragem do vazio, que antes parecia uma tentativa de compreensão, agora se revela como ficção de orientação.
Não havia extensão a ser medida, apenas a ilusão de que havia um exterior observável. Essa constatação não produz choque, nem revelação. Apenas se acomoda como uma evidência tardia, sem importância emocional, sem consequência dramática.
E, no entanto, há algo que persiste como forma de presença sem conteúdo: uma espécie de atenção sem objeto, uma vigilância que não vigia nada.
Não é consciência no sentido clássico, mas também não é sua ausência. É uma zona intermediária onde os polos perderam sua função. Ali, pensamento e não-pensamento deixam de ser opostos e passam a coexistir como variações de um mesmo fundo indiferenciado. O que antes era abismo agora se mostra como continuidade sem fratura.
Nesse ponto, qualquer tentativa de narrativa se torna impossível não por falta de acontecimentos, mas por excesso de equivalência entre eles. Tudo é igualmente intenso e igualmente indiferente.
Uma pedra, um pensamento, uma ausência, uma lembrança inexistente — tudo participa da mesma textura ontológica, sem hierarquia possível. O mundo deixa de ser mundo porque já não há recorte suficiente para distingui-lo de si mesmo.
E ainda assim, há uma espécie de movimento que não se pode nomear como avanço ou retorno. Ele não vai a lugar algum, porque lugar implica diferença espacial; não retorna a nada, porque retorno implica continuidade temporal.
O que há é uma permanência sem eixo, uma presença que não se sustenta em nada, mas também não cai. Uma estabilidade paradoxal que não repousa sobre fundamento algum.
Nesse estado, até a ideia de fim perde consistência. Finalizar seria pressupor uma linha narrativa, uma progressão, um ponto de encerramento. Mas aqui não há linha, apenas campo.
Não há início que possa ser lembrado nem conclusão que possa ser antecipada. O que existe é uma espécie de suspensão contínua, onde até a noção de continuidade se torna irrelevante, porque não há descontinuidade contra a qual ela possa se afirmar.
E então, sem transição, sem resolução, sem qualquer gesto que possa ser identificado como encerramento, o que resta não é silêncio — pois silêncio ainda é uma categoria — mas a impossibilidade de distinguir som de ausência de som, palavra de ausência de palavra, existência de ausência de existência.
Tudo se torna indiferenciado não por fusão, mas por esgotamento da própria diferença como princípio organizador.
Ele — ou aquilo que já não pode ser nomeado — permanece nesse estado sem qualidades, não como sobrevivente de uma experiência, mas como expressão contínua de algo que nunca precisou começar para continuar.
E se há algo que poderia ser chamado de conclusão, seria apenas isto: não há fora do vazio, nem dentro dele, porque essas distinções pertencem a uma gramática que já não opera.
O que há, sempre houve e talvez sempre haverá, é apenas esta impossibilidade de sair do que nunca foi entrada — e mesmo essa formulação já é excesso, já é ruído, já é tentativa de borda onde nunca houve forma.
