É desejável e, provavelmente, benéfico que a docência seja entendida como uma forma pedagógica, cognitiva e didática do exercício da autoridade educativa/formativa. A autoridade docente deve, preferencialmente, circunscrever-se aos níveis educativos, formativos e cívicos, de tal forma que o docente, no seu espaço físico interterritorial, que começa na escola, se amplia no laboratório/oficina, e se prolonga pela sociedade, seja sempre reconhecido pela autoridade que exerce, no poder que tem de ensinar/aprender/formar e preparar para a vida, todos aqueles que ingressam no sistema educativo/formativo, ele próprio, o professor/formador, incluído.
Exige-se ao cidadão investido de autoridade docente, que seja testemunho vivo e atuante, paradigma das boas-práticas da cidadania democrática, com todos os deveres e direitos que ela comporta; igualmente se requer aos poderes, legal e democraticamente constituídos, que valorizem e prestigiem a autoridade docente.
A quadratura para a formação do cidadão, com autoridade, pode ser aplicada em quaisquer situações socioprofissionais e estatutárias. Educar, formar, instruir e integrar no seio da família, da escola, da igreja e da comunidade, constitui o espaço privilegiado e delimitado por estas organizações.
A urgência em se dotar as instituições intervenientes no processo educativo/formativo de um novo educador, impõe-se, nitidamente, à sociedade que, através das suas organizações, públicas e privadas, profissionais, culturais, sociais e outras, nas diversas áreas específicas, tem o dever de contribuir, ativamente, com todo o tipo de recursos, para que a figura de um novo educador se transforme, posteriormente, numa nova sociedade educativa, progredindo do educador individual, para as famílias, escolas, cidades e nações educadoras.
O novo tipo de educador vai promover, a médio prazo, um modelo de cidadão profissional, de pessoa humana, no limite, contribuir para um novo mundo, mais justo, solidário, fraterno e competente. Um projeto educativo, para a formação de um tipo novo de educador, terá de envolver, à partida, pessoas disponíveis e sensibilizadas para assumirem funções muito exigentes, com um elevado nível de rigor e espírito de missão.
Cidadãos que da vida e do mundo tenham, entretanto, uma determinada vivência experienciada, uma sabedoria prudencial e, consequentemente, uma vez mais se deve afirmar: bom senso que caracteriza as mulheres e os homens de boa vontade, moderados, tolerantes, compreensivos, clarividentes e firmes.
