Metacognição: uma abordagem neuroeducativa para a
saúde mental
Em tempos onde o avanço da tecnologia cresce abruptamente e a inteligência artificial passou a substituir o pensamento humano, a Educação corre o grande risco de perder a sua importância no cenário atual, assim como a humanidade, por estar deixando de praticar uma das habilidades mais essenciais para a vida que é o ato de pensar.
Todos os dias e em cada momento, são necessárias diversas tomadas de decisões e isto implica saber gerenciar as emoções e principalmente, pensar de forma estratégica, reconhecendo desta maneira os padrões mentais que estão a reger os comportamentos mediante a essas deliberações; e frente a este contexto, a metacognição se torna a chave invisível que transforma pensamento em consciência.
A princípio, é preciso entender o que significa o termo Metacognição.
É, de forma simples, pensar sobre o próprio pensamento, ou seja,
é a capacidade de perceber, entender e regular como você aprende, sente, decide e age, portanto, não é só pensar, é saber que está pensando — e como está pensando.
O ato em aprender exige muito mais que meramente ir para a escola e decorar o que está sendo transmitido pelo professor em sala de aula, e a este respeito, Fonseca corrobora afirmando que:
[…] aprender a aprender envolve focar a atenção para captar informações, formular, estabelecer e planificar estratégias para lidar com a tarefa, monitorizar a performance cognitiva, examinar as informações disponíveis e aplicar procedimentos para resolver problemas e sua adequabilidade.
Para que a aprendizagem de fato aconteça, é necessário que haja não somente o foco para a captação das informações, mas que essas passem a ter tamanha relevância no campo cognitivo que atravesse o estágio do saber (captação da informação), em seguida comece a compreensão desta informação (conhecimento) e por fim, através da metacognição, venha para o patamar de saber (sabedoria, a transformação do conhecimento pela habilidade em sondar os pensamentos e refletir com consciência acerca de cada um deles).
É importante ressaltar que o cérebro e a mente são duas coisas totalmente distintas entre si, apesar de atuarem juntamente com a consciência de forma indissolúvel. O cérebro humano, como todos os órgãos que compõe o sistema físico, é de extrema e fundamental importância, porém, existe algo muito peculiar em relação à sua funcionalidade que é a sua atividade constante e ininterrupta com a mente que é a responsável por codificar todas as informações para transmitir ao cérebro todos os registros dos quais serão receptados pelo mesmo.
Segundo Pinker (1998), a mente não é o cérebro e sim o que o cérebro faz, e nem mesmo é tudo o que ele faz, como metabolizar gordura e calor. A mente é a responsável por criar os códigos e enviá-los ao cérebro por um mecanismo de engrenagem ao qual, através da decodificação dessas informações, passará a pensar sobre os códigos criados primeiramente no campo mental.
Em um cotidiano tão repleto de inúmeros compromissos e o tempo cada vez mais escasso, é natural que muitas pessoas se tornem reativas de uma forma até mesmo agressiva em suas relações, o que vem adoecendo cada vez mais, um número considerável de pessoas que necessitam cuidar da saúde mental.
Praticar a metacognição, é a maneira mais simples de se reeducar para o alcance de um nível consciencial que eleve a forma tanto de viver, quanto de agir mediante a cada decisão a ser tomada no dia a dia, e frente a este contexto a Neuroeducação, se torna um recurso totalmente eficaz, uma vez que leva o indivíduo a refletir através de seus pensamentos, em cada tipo de comportamento que esteja desenvolvendo ou que já está atuando, transformando a metacognição em consciência; que trará as mudanças necessárias ao sistema, modificando as reações automáticas, levando-as à escolhas totalmente conscientes, oportunizando desta maneira, uma vida mais leve e feliz, com a saúde mental em perfeita harmonia.
